"I spent several years with NP. in the beginning it was good. stressful, but we were paid well. since the new management in recent years, the pay dropped, and dropped, and DROPPED. Management became unresponsive to emails - with many going unanswered. it's sad how such a good company turned out to be so very terrible. My thoughts are that they tried to remove it from the US completely. Not sure how that is working for them. disciplinary actions did not make sense and were truly accommodating to the "pets" and some supervisors were heard bragging that they could twist the rules to suit their purpose - depending on whether they liked the person or not. Cons: pay cut after pay cut . no managerial support."

You are to tell the customer they are in a meeting and will call them back (which they never do). You are to tell them you are giving them the best deal even though they paid substantially less on their previous order."

"AWFUL COMPANY!!!! Worked there for 2 years and moved up and when I had an issue with a few other employees, they did NOTHING! It was soooo stressful working there when I had to work with a few JEALOUS female co workers that took it as fas as messing with my personal life!!!! THE COMPANY AND HR done NOTHING!!!! They dont give a----!!!! Just there numbers on their sales!!!!! "Departments out of cooperation. Tasks round from a person to a person. No one knows them and take them. Troubles are never fixed and just converted to penalties against innocent staffs by idle senior persons. They love to use power brainlessly and heartlessly without any rational reasons. They never hesitate to force us to compete each other and to dismiss staffs after that or after their own failures generated from the anachronistic management systems. They will give you impossible targets to kick you out from the company for adjusting the number of staffs just after hiring you. Insane. Don`t believe the working conditions given by HR at the time of interview. They are just chattering irresponsibly for their targets only. That can be said just a fraud. They never mind lying and repeating lies. The working environment is in stone age, ejecting troubles which will interrupt you to get to your targets. All employees are suffering. Got rid of the Customer Care dept in the USA and moved it to Jamaica. Our customers were complaining about the way the Jamaicans spoke to them, they were very rude to customers. It was all about the pay. They pay the Jamaicans 4.00 to 5.00 an hour. ALL I CAN SAY IS YOU'RE GONNA GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR."

"I worked at National Pen Company full-time Cons: In years past, the management helped the company grow. They were supportive and worked hard for you. Many of them started out doing the same job as us so they understood the challenges and tried to provide solid solutions and answers. Somewhere in 2016 everything changed. The people who cared for the company were laid off towards the end of that year. I would consider a few of them lifelong mentors to this day. What we were left with were ill-equipped and short sighted individuals who functioned only minimally and didn't have any business sense at all. I should have left but didn't. Then, on March 31st 2020, the company finally did what they have slowly been doing since 2016 - they moved almost all operations to either Jamaica or Mexico for a reduced labor cost. From a business stand point, I understand trying to save money. From an employee stand point, I understand they couldn't control a pandemic. The timing was poor at best. The treatment of the employees over the last few years was actually worse than how they let us all go. The number of times my pay and commission were changed was appalling. The way we were treated by management was disgusting. The condition of the building, even after some cosmetic changes, was a health risk."

"I worked at National Pen Company full-time for more than 8 years Cons: They. Do. Not. Care. about ANYTHING other than their profits. They lied to employees, assuring us our jobs were safe, after they moved half of our facility to Jamaica for "restructuring", or as I'd like to call it, "cheaper labor because we really don't have any integrity". 2 days prior to my writing this, they have permanently laid-off over 100 workers in the Tennessee facility, leaving only about 20. The 20 that were chosen to stay, were chosen because of their seniority at the company, and not performance. Come to find out, it was just another excuse to not pay out money, since they would have owed those 20 people significantly more in a "severance" package than anyone else. This company is trash, plain and simple. Please avoid ALL National Pen co. / Perfect Pen (Canada) / Atlas / Cimpress (Parent Company) business."

"I have been working at National Pen Company full-time for more than a year Cons: Management has favorites, Your capped off at how much money to make, God forbid you miss commission you are treated like a criminal. You have no job security. If you are not a favorite you are treated like scum. People with disabilities who cannot climb the 2 flights of stairs are forgotten about. Ive seen management treat a young lady who had a mental disorder like she was garbage and then fired her. Ive seen many get walked out just because management doesn't like them. The same old people are in place no room for new growth. No one will move up unless they are right up under the floor mangers but. I mean terrible and horrible place to work. Nothing to clean your desk with. You are treated like a criminal if you miss commission. ive seen good people loose their jobs. Do not come work here. you will not survive if you have no sales experience. They throw you out there you either sink or swim."

"I have been working at National Pen Company full-time for more than 3 years Cons: The management is horrible. They have a very tight knit "clique" and gossip all day. The CEO is horrible. You can tell he doesn't care about the employees or the customers The office is disgusting. Spiders, ants, and cockroaches are in every corner. The bathrooms are the worst and constantly is deplorable condition. You have to hunt down a stall to use since they are clogged every day. There was even a couple times that the water was cut off and they still had employees working there and told them to go to the store down the road to use the bathrooms. They will threaten you with termination for a huge list of different things. The systems are overly complicated and actually stall and fail on a regular basis. The other countries have a better ordering systems and it's known. The Tn branch constantly gets the short stick. For example: 2019 is the first year that they had a actual Christmas party. Most of the time it's a few plates in the breakroom while San Diego gets team building trips and parties for everything. They are sending multiple departments to Jamaica/Mexico and there is a constant fight over who gets the orders. When you do get an order you have to go through a lengthy process to even put an discount on it. There is plenty more but I think the snapshot of the experience will suffice."

"I would suggest you do NOT use this company if you need your pens for a special event. We are in Richmond, Va. We started this process on 08/18/2020. Our consultant's name was Nick. He was in Jamaica!!! We wanted a certain color. After 2 to 3 weeks, we didn't hear anything. My husband called. They said they didn't have that color. No call, no email to inform us of this new information. We went ahead and set up to get blue pens and was assured they would be here Sept 8 or 9. We received an email stating how they were shipping, UPS ground. Today, 09/10 we are really concerned. We learned from Nick they don't have that color, either. We were assured @ 2 weeks ago that production had started. We are very aware that a pandemic is upon us. However, an email, a phone call, or a text would have worked. We are so sorry that we didn't shop local. Check the recent reviews. There are many 1's. We are very upset. Our event begins in 2 days."

"I've been doing business with pens.com for years with thousands of dollars spent with them. My previous experience has just been horrendous! From communication and lack there of to ridiculous delays, to trying to charge me more than the order I placed and paid for at time of order. I will not be using them going further. Do yourself a favor and steer clear, go find a local business that will actually appreciate your business!"

"Absolutely TERRIBLE customer service!! Their website said the handling time was 7-10 days which was important because I needed them for an event in 3 weeks. It is now 3 days from the event, no pens. I have emailed multiple times and called and left a message 2 days ago all with no answer. FINALLY today, I get someone on the phone and they say they don’t have the pens in stock and won’t have them for another 3 weeks. WHAT!?!? Zero communication from them about this. Nothing on their website stating it. I am livid. Now I don’t have time to order from someone else. Don’t use this company!"

"HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE/DELAYS/NO PROPER COMMUNICATION. I ordered pens in July and it’s August and I still do not have my pens. How is this company going to take my money and not let me know the pens I ordered are out of stock and I’d have to wait additional 2 weeks for the pens to restock?! WHERE IS THE COMMUNICATION? I requested a refund and I keep being placed on hold SEVERAL times for 15-20 min periods. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!"
